Modern refurbishment, interior design and colour facelift for this 130 square meter dwelling in the heart of one of Athens’s oldest, bohemian neighbourhoods and only truly multicultural one.
The original, vintage wallpaper, sixties bathroom tiles, marble kitchen basins and herringbone, hardwood flooring are typical elements that adorned most buildings of this era. Though heartrenching to tear down the wallpaper and the original bathroom tiles, these interventions were necessary to undertake new electrical wiring and plumbing work. The walls dividing the three main living spaces, were demolished to create fluidity between the rooms and allow in more light.
Some of the furniture pieces left behind by the previous owner, such as the somewhat drabby,
buffet cabinet were dismantled, reworked and painted, imbuing them with new life: in this case, the yellow dresser.
